It has been quiet on this blog for a while now and with reason: I'm stopping with this blog.
Lately I don't feel the need or have the time to continue this blog and moreover I feel like
I'm moving into a next chapter of my life (and this is not only due to the baby that is coming).
But life just has a different meaning, I'm more relax on so many parts and enjoy my little family.
There are a lot of memories related to this blog, good and bad and I feel I want to make a fresh
start. I don't think this will be the end for me blogging, cause I still like to share stories of my
little familie, drawings etc but I have a different idea of how this will be, so no more sueperblog.
Bye readers, maybe we'll see each other again on another blog - if so I will let it know!

I know I've been very absent but there is a very good reason: there is a little baby growing
inside me! I've been feeling so sick and tired for the last three months that my mind was totally of blogging.

Every thing is changing so fast, the renovation of our house has started in speedtempo, with my
poor husband carrying the load: doing the renovation and being stuck with a tired, sick wife!
I'm starting to feel better now, so will try to keep you posted!

An outfitpost, indeed! These pics were taking a while ago and didn't come around posting them!
With my 'suekie mouse thoughts - post' I got a lot of reaction from readers and friends asking
me if my blog would change totally. But don't worry that is not what I meant, fashion just will not
play the leading part, and ohter subjects as art, drawing etc will get more attention.
Anyway this is my peacock dress - bought it at wintersale in Mango and just fits perfect. Can be
worn in winter - like here with panties and cardigan but will be perfect for summer!

Some of you might have noticed it but I'm changing a bit the content of this blog. Where it used
to be just mostly a fashionblog, I want to concentrate it now more on things I like, fashion will
still play a part but not as big as it had before.
I sometimes get overwhelmed by the thought how superficial it is - I mean don't get me wrong I
love outfitposts too, but on the blogs I follow, I try to read what the person has to say and not
just only comment to get a comment back - which happens a lot in fashionblogging. It is a fact
that I get always lots of comments on my outfitspost but I often get the same comment twice on
different posts by the same person - if a comment is copy/paste it isn't necessary for me!
This blog is very personal to me and not a race to get as many readers or followers as possible - I
prefer to have some readers who really go for the whole content!
As thanks to all my 'real' followers I added them in my blogroll! Don't worry I will keep posting
loads and loads of pics - but just not mainly fashionpics!

A vintage all over pic: everything you see is vintage - well almost everything cause hairpin,

stockings and shoes are not.

But vintage skirt, blouse, cardigan, sofa and ashtray!

About the vintage-part: I'm a real specialist in finding cheap vintage stuff (clothes and furniture)

some of my friends allready gave their order for things for me to find!

but just a little side note: often these treasures come in special fabrics - like leather where

getting them cleaned in the drycleaner turns out to be expensiver the the piece itself!

Remember this post? first of all - I want to thank my readers again for all the sweet comments,
especially those who actually read my blog and don't just comment on a outfitpost! second I just
wanted you all to know that I'm feeling much much better.
I was listening to Nina Simone while painting at home and after hearing this song it just struck
me that this are going the right way again. I really adressed the issues with a clear view - and
allthough life will never be perfect, it is going pretty ok right now!
with that new found strength my life has gotten even more busy (if that ever was possible) and
the blog has to wait on its post a little longer but don't worry I won't forget!

I have set my heart on these little fascinators! Now I have to admit I just received my

package from assos containing a red skirt and how valentine-appropriate a heart-sweater and

last week there was the new hat added to my list and all the new furniture and then we have

some many plans made - as you can see: I am not the best saver. so budgetwise it is probably

best to leave them but they are so tiny and perfect, aren't they???

As said in previous posts we are renovating and redecorating our house - for the decoration we
are on a true mission in search of nice stuff! We want somthing different not the typical stuff you
can buy anywhere and not the big expensive stuff allready searched for the lazy ones.
So this weekend was our missionweekend with lots of visits to markets, vintage shops,
recycleshops etc.

I get to travel a lot for work, for 2 of my recent projects I have to be in paris weekly. It is really
interesting and a great experience - but I have to admit it isn't always as glamourous as it
seems. You know: eating alone in a restaurant isn't always that fun. My days abroad for work
are always filled with working, even in the hotel I tend to work long hours to catch the time lost
by travelling, then a quick diner and some reading in my bed (currently reading cruel beauty - a
gift from the husband), or a blog photoshoot of course!

I always say that I almost never wear pants, but I have to be honest and tell you that in
weekends - when I'm at work at home - I often wear pants. Renovating in a skirt isn't that
practic!
So this is me in my work-outfit - my main task during our renovation is stripping the old
wooden frames, doors and stairs from paint: a very patient and slow work and I still have
lots to do...

In our mission to have some more quality-time together, my husband planned a trip to Brussels.
He planned to do some musea and fleamarkets but with my toe the plan got a bit messed up.
My husbands solution: he got me a wheelchair so we could still go to a museum. We got in for

free but, it was so confronting and really made me think of disabled people and how they

experience this. I even don't feel comfortable of posting a pic of me in the weelchair, or is that

just my proud???

Anyway, we did the magritte-museum which was very nice and got a special threatment by the

staff! I mostly like his early works, sketches and pictures of his wife Georgette - but I

always have a taste for photography and figurative art.

Boardwalk Empire

With the snow and my broken toe, I've been stuck at home. I've used the disadvantage to rest

and watch some television - and totally got hooked on the series "Boardwalk Empire".

As you can see in my previous post, I'm so inspired by the outfits. Therefore decided for New

Year to go roaring 20s style.

I'm usually not that much of a TV-series lover, but this really is a must see: good story, great

decors and amazing clothing. And now back to work!

My New Year Resolutions

2010 has come to an end and I'm totally ready for a new start. The way to heaven is
paved with good intentions and this is the same with my trip into the new year:

1 taking time for myself
2 finally finishing the renovation of our house
3 buying at least one pair of flat shoes
4 2 times a week an hour-walk in nature (well, after my toe is cured)
5 visiting the 'ij-hallen' fleamarket in amsterdam
6 reading at least 3 'reading'books and buying at least 3 artbooks
7 bravely looking forward, not looking back

Last year's bread

Because I'm stuck at home with my toe, I'm ending the year with a delicious recipe for bread
pudding

Ingredients: 300gr of last year's bread, 1/2l milk, 1dl cream, 60gr butter, 100gr white sugar,
1 package of vanilla sugar, 3 eggs, a handfull raisins, 1oogr dryed but moisted abircots, 125gr
marzipan, 1/2 lemon, 1 small spoon cinamon and some pecannuts

boil the milk with the white sugar and poor it over the pieces of bread, stur the egg yoke with
the cream and vanillasugar and add to the bowl with bread

make a mixture of the cinnamon, raisins, abricots, marzipan, butter and lemon peel

add all to the bowl and poor in a pastry mould fixed with butter

bake in a preheated oven for 45 - 60 minutes on 180°C

serve warm with some pecannuts

fancy footwork

Remember that 'little toe-incident' that happened a week ago, well that little toe just kept on
hurting. I know myself: I'm not thé most though person, so didn't feel like going to the
doctor for no reason. But under compulsion from my mom and husband, I finally went and this
fancy footwork is the result. I've broken my poor little toe twice. So this will be my hot shoe for
the next couple of weeks...

on the hair-part: what a response! I'm still very indecisive; my mom made a plea to keep my
natural color, especially because colorshampoos always affect your hair - and moms are always
right (see above!). But there is still an option of using a henna-shampoo, this is a natural product
that you can wash away - to be continued...

jep, it is that time again: I'm in the mood for a hairchange - it definitely needs a cut cause my
updo's are becoming too difficult because of the length but nothing to drastic, just a small cut to
get the right length and health back. But I'm also thinking of coloring it - which is kinda drastic
for me since I never colored itbefore. I will start with a shampoo, nothing too permanent yet!

"mad men" cocktail hour

This time of year is filled with cocktail- and dinner-parties with friends. The perfect time to
go "mad men -style" in a tight fitted dress, preppy shoes and perfect styled hair.
Outside dress warm but elegant with a big coat and a nice scarf wrapped around you.
And remember: never drink and drive - cheers!

Ps: I have to be honest and tell you that these pics were taken some days ago cause during one
of those cocktailparties at a friends house, I was dancing a little bit to excited on christmas' songs
and stumped my little toe to the sofastand: resulted one terribly blue little toe - so the shoes I'm
wearing now aren't so fancy as the ones above ...

ages (actually just pure jealousy!). Oh so lucky me, my friend decided to have a sale with old
shoes and clothes; and guess what - these babies were for sale!!! Thé perfect red butterfly
shoes, they are extremly high, so honestly don't think I will wear them that much, but just
the thought of owning them is just perfect!

On this cold and snowy 4 december I'm turning 29! Unlike most people, I actually don't mind
getting older, cause you always gain in wisdom and knowledge - but who knows, in a couple of
years I might feel different. I'm planning on a nice shoppingday with the big sis, cake with family
and then a small party with friends!

To complete the geneva-story from previous post - it turned out to be quite an adventure: that
night all flights got canceled, waiting at the airportdesk I met 3 people, when we heard that the
airport would stay closed the next day and no hotels were left in geneva, we took the train to
Bern. Arriving there at 2 (in the night), we check in a hotel, getting up in the morning and
starting a roadtrip to Belgium with a rental car - considering all circumstances a fun way to meet
people. We allready are keeping in touch by mail and decided to do a reunion each 30th of
November.

UPDATE: because I'm rather bored sitting and waiting in the airport lounge, I'm adding this
old blury picture I have - I really like the mystic effect of it. I always try to take picture with
no natural light and no flash but somehow they always turn out very blury - anyone any
pointers?

Exploring my attic - I stumbled on my infamous black box or better my box where I kept all of
my secrets as a teenager. Containing my dairy, pictures and old love-letters from former
sweethearts - so much fun to find all this stuff and read all about those teenage-hormones! Oh, I
was such a girlie girl!

As promised my 1-2-3-drawing-tutorial, as I just restarted with drawing, I'm sure this will still
evolve and if any of you still have any pointers, they are welcome - I'm currently doing the
CPU-part with photoshop but I'm not convinced this is the best program for it.

I started working on a christmas-card, and planning to do other drawings then outfitposts but
ah time...

Step 1: make a sketch and scan it

step 2: redraw the main lines in a new layer, this gives the possibility to turn of the sketchlayer

step 3: start filling in: adding textures or depth with slight brightness of colours - and ready!

PS: I' know i'm so terribly behind with everything: reading all of your blogs, taking outfitposts but I'm
have some many plans and ideas - I just need 35hours in 1 day!

sticky rice pudding

Ingredients:
50cl milk
65gr dessert-rice
35gr sugar
saffron
1 package of vanilla-sugar or extract
1 spoon of bronw sugar

bring the rice, milk, saffron and vanillasugar to boil, let it boil gently for 45 min with constant
stirring, add the sugar the last 5 min

poor into a bowl and let it rest for 5 min, then spread the brown sugar on top

put the bowls in a preheated oven under the grill for 5 min

and ready!

ps don't mind the messy kitchen, as you know still under construction...

The title is sentence from Prince's song 'star' - and I just think it is so true. Nowadays the focus

is set way too hard on having it all, and the smallest details are so often forgotten. For me it is

the other way around: details are the finer things in life and they just make my day.

You don't have to have handsfull, grasping on with one finger often means so much more.

Posing next to our new stove - wearing welovecolours-stay-ups, H&M black bowtiara and
a asos dress that will soon be sold in the shop. I really love this little black dress but it has
become too short to wear during daytime, I still love short pieces but don't feel the right age to
wear them anymore, oops am I getting old???
So for the dresslovers just a couple of days I think and my shop will be up and running!

My sister and I, we phone each other almost daily driving home from work - and just talk about
everything. At one of those talk the subject was being creative, where I said that I would like to
draw more but don't want to get stuck in bungling work, but she replied that I should try it and
believed it would be great.
So picked up my drawing again - a welcome variation on my outfitpics, a outfit drawing -
showing what I wore yesterday being inside and outside.

I'm really curious on what you think - to be repeated?

Wearing all black today - with some colourfull accents. I wear usually at least one piece with more

colours but you know sometimes black does the trick!

Black defenitely is more formal for me but I always try to still get my sweet touch in a formal

look - with my yellow purse, butterfly belt and butterfly hairpin - yes I'm a true butterfly-lover,

remember?

Insel Hombroich

I'm planning a trip to see the exhibition of Jef Verheyen - he is the most important Belgian
'Zero' artist. He was a true mentor seen for his work with light and colour. This trip will be a
true inspiration for work - starting from the 'fullness of emptiness' (a quote from my boss).

And what's even more exiciting - the exhibition is in the 'raketstation hombroich', next to Insel
Hombroich - an open air museum. I visited it once and never forgot it and now I can go back, so
you can expect a detailed report coming your way (with some outfitshots - this will be esthetics
in all its ways!)

The final cut

I did it - cleaned out my closet, took me several hours! And I made the final cut of what will be
listed in my shop. I really have a idea of how the items will be sold, I will place a picture of the
item itself, some details and the an example of how it can be worn. The last point is very
important since lots of people often don't understand the pieces I buy untill I wear them.
I've really been hard on myself and everything that I haven't worn in a year needs to go.
Afterwards the selection was made of what to sell and what to go - I want to keep a good
standard in the shop.

This shots is actually taken like a month ago at work - in our fabric department. But feel
like posting it now, cause it just represents me constantly at work. Going to the office or
construction site for work and coming home in our own construction site, working from 7am
untill 9pm!
Taking pictures is postponed so I'm digging in the archives of what's left!
We are getting somewhere at home and I'm hoping that things will be slightly normal by the end
of next week - I mean our living situation will return somewhat comfortable but all the work
won't be finished!

Look, my hair is short - well faux-short that is. I tried to fake a louis brooks bob - and it really
turned out as a 20s-looking hairdo.
I've gone through a whole history of different types of hair - starting with real long hair as a girl,
going to shortshort hair, then semi-short and now I'm growing it back. But you know, once you
have one hairstyle, you want to get to the other - so now I finally have my longer hair, I actually
really felt like a Louise Brooks haircut! (you know, those girls so hard to keep them satisfied,
always changing their minds, if hair would only grow faster! but not the fringe - cause that grows
too fast!)

sister crazy - cause it is her favourite girlsname!).

Rosie will show my clothes - I allready have so many great pieces and ideas in mind! The house

old suitcases

I've had a great idea for a cupboard - to make a wooden frame/structure and to

use old suitcases as drawers. Will have to remove the flap so that the 'drawers' are open

when pulled out. See Sketch below (don't mind my poor sketching quality - I'm not the best

drawer and sketch was made in train)

Anyone any pointers where I can find old suitcases - not to expensive since I will
demolish them partially?

These narcistic photoshoots are what happen when I'm alone in Paris - had to stay overnight

for work and didn't felt like going out byself so decided to get a photoshoots in my

lovely room at Hotel Relais Saint Germain.

People not familiar with fashionblogging probably think this is such an egotrip - I sometimes

even get comments on that - but to me it is just fun, I actually experimented with some hairdo's

- those pics will still come! And besides doesn't every star need a bed-themed-photoshoot? ;p

The Sueper Shop

With all the construction works going on at my house, I had a good look at my wardrobe, which is
semi-filled with stuff I don't wear anymore (too small, not my style and so on). It feels such a
shame to just throw it away, because there are really nice pieces - so I've decided to start a shop.
I've allready sold some thing through ebay but don't really find ebay my thing - so I'm still
doubting on selling on etsy or an a blogaccount -what do you guys feel I should do: etsy or blog?

I allready created the banner for my shop, this picture was taken the day of my sister's wedding,

I've been a terrible blogger lately - not following any of your blogs but things are so hectic and

all at ones: the whole house is a dustbin filled with contractors and we are living on our island

(read bed) in the middle of it, I have this cold that doesn't cure (probably from being too tired),

an enormous workload waiting at the office (which is so demanding with my project at home)

and to top it all I sprained my toe at volleyballpractice (so still running around in heels with a

blue toe cause euhm well I don't have decent flat shoes).

I could definitely use this cute little desk - just close the hood and keep working and blogging ;)

thursday in Berlin. Such a shame I can't be there but with the works at my house and all of my
projects, I can't make the time! When all the hectic life at home is over, I will plan my trip

Preparing for the cold

step 1 - stand still - go to your innerstrength

step 2: make a huge turn, catching as much wind as you can

step 3: end miraculously with a trenchcoat and warm scarf!!!

No arms, just some magic and I'm ready for fall;)

Temperatures are dropping, so scarfs and jackets are much needed - allthough I'm still acting

though and am not wearing panties just yet! I usually take my picture inside so decided to

give a glimpse of how it looks going outside!

Picture are actually taken a few days ago - cause I'm not looking all dressed up for the moment -

they've started renovating our house - contractors and dust everywhere and we are living right

in the middle of it. My dressing has turned into a dustbin - aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!! The

next few days I will wear easy clothes and easy hair, let's hope I will survive!

Eternal Beauty

A personal gift from my boss! Remember my post 'Sue & the 7 brains'? Well, I'm that kind

of blabber person that shares her wandering thoughts with everyone, so some days after my

visit to the biënnale I started talking with my boss on how it sometimes can feel frustrading

when you want to do/know too much and even started telling my whole 7 brain-theory,

which luckely he found very amusing and so on and on (yes typically me talktalktalk). But

anyway, my boss really understood what I was saying and gave me this book - it is a book

about the history of art told in a very open way, not fixed on dates and names but more on the

general idea behind art. Very sweet, my hours on train or plane will be well spent from now on!

Yes, yes another wedding - the last one for this year(I think). My sister and my new-brother-in
-law took the step, don't they look radiant? It was the perfect wedding for them, nice weather,
all of their family and friends, all the right details and a good party. And for me that chance to
finally wear my cocktailhat! I was very pleased with the hair - my hairdresser did it exactly as I
wanted it - but how can she not, with me giving instructions the whole time - I think I can be the

customer from hell sometimes, very busy in giving directions and comments!

²Lenny Kravitz - Again²

Did I ever told you I used to be a 'fan' of Lenny Kravitz, must have - probably started with a

teenage-crush on him but I still like his songs, some have really beautiful lyrics and , very

important I can sing a long -not that I'm that good of a singer! But songs with memories always

will do - isn't it strange how one song can teleport you back in time?

(Damm, wanted to do a post with saying all most nothing but couldn't, like in real life a bit too

talkative...)

Sue and the 7 brains

Yesteday I had to go to Paris for work - first meeting with new clients, always very exciting!

It went great - it will be a project with a tight schedule but isn't that always the case?

Afterwards I went to the biennale des antiquairs - we are one of exposants, so had a free ticket.

I was lucky that my boss was there, and he showed me around a bit. Except from our unit,

which was all about proporition - yin and yang, rich against sober, I really liked the Krüger & Cie

one, Through marriage they were related to one of the directed descendants of Picasso; which

leaded to the direct heritage of a lot of his pieces - I almost like the sketches more then the

paintings.

After such visits I always feel that there is still so much to learn and see, why can't I have 7

brains??? One for fashion, two architecture and interior (can't have one without the other), three

art, four photography (partially art but also partially very technical), five nature, six food and

seven social skills. Sue and the seven brains, why not?

of my pictures myself cause it must be so tiring to have somebody always asking to take a
picture!
But I feel me and my hubby found a point of 'symbiosis', he has his music and I my
'fashion-thing', in our spare time at home we often sit next to each other: he will be creating
music and me blogging, taking pictures, reading or doing what every crazy thought jumped into
my mind - like getting dressed up and doing a crazy dance on his music. (Euhm, and then we will
skip the part where he laughs and says that there definitely is something wrong with me!)

the overknee-length

With his fall collection for Vuitton Marc Jacobs goes back to the 50s/early 60s - with as
eyecatcher an overknee leather skirt. Meaning that way back, when I bought my vintage leather
skirt I was a head of fashion - euhm Marc, if you need an assistant, you know where to go;)!
One pointer with the overknee-length always wear with high heels, otherwise you risk looking
out of proportion.

So here is my version of the 'vuitton'-fall look:

and a closer look on the hair: did my braids-thing again - start on one side and keeping adding
hair while you go to the otherside, end with a knot.

the moment I wake up

I've gotten a lot of question regarding the fact if I go all dressed up to work, and how much time
it doesn't take to get ready in the morning. A lot of my collegues gave me the same remark, but
actually I don't need more then 15 minhutes in the morning.
This is how I get started:

first a good daycream - I once read that you have to change cream often to avoid your skin
getting adjusted to the effects of it. Perfect for me cause I always like to try new things!

Next a good concealer and very important my concealerstick for black circles around the eyes.

Then the eyes: white pencil for underneath, black eyeliner for above, black pencil with comb for the eyebrows and double mascare for extra long lashes

peach coloured blush

for the lips: a red pencil and red stick - today I went for red, but I often go for pink or just some

gloss - because go the construction sites with red lipstick, euhm, stil have to grow thougher on

that point

Make-up ready, over to the hairs - I always curl my fringe with a curling iron

then the hairdo - depending on my time I choose my hairdo - since I'm doing the tutorial not too

much time left - so go for easy rolls and loose hair

and ready - all in 15minutes!
